Getting started with MUSOO

Orientation
MUSOO is like sound CMS (content management system) specialized for enjoying music on the web. To get used to MUSOO, there are two keywords to remember, Station and Channel.
- Station (web radio station)
- The station is the fundamental unit in the MUSOO. One station has one broadcasting URL which visitors access to listen to your playing and has one station booth for composing your works for it.
- Channel
- The channel is like radio program or playing list. And this is the unit of composing in the station. The station can hold multiple channels.
Login, update your profile and configuration of default station

Point your browser to MUSOO system gateway url (typically http://example.com/yourSite/ms.php) and enter your username and password.
For the first login after successfully installing, sign in as the default user ( Username: musoo Password: musoo ).

First of all, you should change the username and password of the "musoo" account to something else. Click the "Authors" on the Menu

Click the "Edit" on the line of default username ( musoo ).

Change the columns listed below.
Then click the "SAVE PROFILE" button to update.- Username
- Username you need to enter as sign in
- Public name
- The name displayed publicly. If this column is empty, Username is displayed instead of this.

- Password
- Password you need to enter as sign in.

Next, set up your "Default Station".
Click the "Stations" on the Menu and click the "Configuration panel" in the Stations list.

Change the columns listed below.
Then click the "SAVE CONFIGURATION" button to update and create script file for broadcasting URL.- Station name
- The name or title of your broadcasting station.
- Description
- Description about this station.
- Site URL
- Set the domain absolute path of broadcasting URL. (The visitors access here.)
- Site path
- Set the server absolute path where the script file for broadcasting URL is created.
Launch your station booth

Click the station's name ( default is "Default Station" ) on the Stations list to launch the booth.

The station booth has two parts, the Selector and the Editor.
- Selector
- All your uploaded files are listed (sorting and searching in the future). The sound selector and the image selector handle your files. The channel selector handle channels you created in MUSOO.
- Editor
- In the editor, you can do the following operations.
- Create a new channel in the Station.
- Insert a new image into the channel and the sound.
- Edit the channel information: title, description, publish date and On air status etc.
- Edit the sound information: title, comment, lyrics and publish date etc.
- And control the volume in playing.
- Arrange the order of channels and sounds in the channel.
- (To-be soon)Mix the multiple sounds files, add fade-in,out effects.

Start MUSOO by uploading your files onto the server. Click the "Upload files" button and follow the instructions on screen. MUSOO accept MP3, JPEG, GIF and PNG only. You can upload multiple files at a time.

After you upload files, they will be listed in the selector window.(screenshot shows the image selector)
MUSOO handles your playing in units of channel. You need to create new channel for composing your sounds and images. Click the "Create channel" button for it.

After clicking the "Create channel" button, pop up window appears. Enter Title and Description as you like and click the "CREATE" button. "Published On" and "Last Modified On" fields are filled automatically by current time if they are null.

The new created channel appears in the editor as channel bar.
- "OPEN CH" Button
- Open (and close) the list of sounds included in this channel.
- "EDIT" Button
- Pop up window for updating information of this channel.
- "STORE" Button
- Remove this channel bar from the editor panel. The channel can be still accessed in the channel selector.

Drag and drop the sound bar you picked from the sound selector onto the target channel bar or the position between the sounds you like.

Click the "OPEN CH" button on the channel bar, then sound bar you added appears.
- Play/Pause Button
- Click the button to play/pause the sound.
- Volume Controller
- Adjust the volume of the sound.
- "EDIT" Button
- Pop up window for updating informations of this sound (title, comment, lyrics etc.).
- "STORE" Button
- Remove this sound from this channel. The sound can be still accessed in the sound selector.

Drag and drop the thumbnail you picked from the image selector onto the target sound bar.

Your channel is ready to be on-air. Click the "EDIT" button on the channel bar, the Channel Info window pop up. Select "On Air" in the "Status" pulldown menu and click "SAVE" button.
You will find that the status light turns red from green in the channel selector bar.

You can drag and drop the channel bar from the channel selector onto the position you like in the station editor.

Your station can include multi channels.

Click your station's broadcasting url to open player window.
Now your channel gets air-play !
